From Tom on Mon, Sep 20, 2010 at 10:41:09 from 137.65.56.16

Nice job getting a good strong last long run before the big race.

Hope the fires are keeping clear of your house!

Hope you are doing well this morning! I am thinking you are in the same neighborhood as Rachel, so you were not evacuated???

No Herriman Hill running this morning, darn.

From Calvin on Mon, Sep 20, 2010 at 10:50:41 from 66.133.117.3

Our house is about 1 block north of the mandatory evacuation area. We were up late keeping an eye on the fires progress, and had some bags packed ready to head out if necessary. We saw several huge blazes and some buildings burning within a mile or so of us. But with the shifting winds and the work of fire crews, we weren't in any direct danger.

Good to know. i was facebooking with Rachel until 1:30 in the morning and she said your area was still safe. I am still in shock when i see where the homes burned---not rural or up in the mountains at all. That could have gotten really bad really fast!

Take care today! Are you leaving or just staying home today?

From Calvin on Mon, Sep 20, 2010 at 11:07:18 from 66.133.117.3

I think they'll be able to control the fires today. We're staying put for now.

From Kelli on Mon, Sep 20, 2010 at 11:10:41 from 71.219.65.246

I was just thinking if you left for work you might not be able to get back in---not sure how it is working out there.

Enjoy the day at home with all the kids! You have a few, right?

From Calvin on Mon, Sep 20, 2010 at 11:22:45 from 66.133.117.3

For now our neighborhood is accessible.

(we actually sent the kids to the grandparents house last night. they were somewhat shaken up about everything going on.)

From Kelli on Mon, Sep 20, 2010 at 11:25:16 from 71.219.65.246

I bet, it was really close to you guys.

From Bec on Mon, Sep 20, 2010 at 17:34:15 from 67.172.233.189

Wow, glad to hear everything is okay. That is crazy how close that got to your home.

From fly on the Wall on Mon, Sep 20, 2010 at 19:53:30 from 204.113.19.47

Congrats on finishing your last long run.

Glad to read that you weren't evacuated. Sounds too close for comfort.
